Is DDoS protection included in standard VPS plans? +
Yes! Standard network-level L3/L4 protection is included with every Vexanode VPS and Bot Hosting plan automatically. The standalone Shield plans are for advanced L7 routing or protecting external servers not hosted with us.
Will the proxy increase latency? +
Because our filtering nodes are located directly in Mumbai, the added latency for Indian users is typically less than 3-5ms, which is imperceptible for most applications.
How is my real IP hidden? +
You update your DNS A records to point to our Shield IPs. We receive the traffic, scrub it, and forward it to your backend server over a secure GRE tunnel or reverse proxy. Attackers only see our IP.
Does it block legitimate users during an attack? +
Our system uses deep packet inspection rather than simple rate-limiting. This means false positives are extremely rare; legitimate users will usually not even notice an attack is occurring.
